01. Excellence in Service

One of the many benefits of working with us is the personal approach we can provide. In fact, working with D&D will be one of the best relationships you’ve ever had, but with less candlelight and 80’s power ballads.

Our genuine desire to do the best job possible, coupled with our commitment to ensure your property reaches its fullest market potential, has cemented us firmly as the market-leading local agent. We’re also one of the UK’s best estate and letting agents according to the Best Estate Agents Guide and we’ve won multiple awards (we’re modest too). But more about that later.

Moreover, we aim to provide a genuinely useful service. We’re experts in our field and we’re able to offer multiple complimentary services, such as mortgage advice or surveying, all under one roof. We also always go above and beyond for our clients. We’re helping you with one of your biggest assets, so we try to make the experience as stress free as possible.

02. We're Locals

Established in 1927, we know this neighbourhood. We’ve been in Finsbury Park and Stroud Green for over 93 years (yet we don’t look a day over 92!). As a result, we’re one of the most recognised local businesses and our heritage has helped us become one of the most trusted too.

The majority of our team live locally, some were even born in the area. So, not only are we local experts, we’re motivated by more than just income, we actually care about local businesses, people and the environment around us. We want the local area to thrive and so we work hard to contribute to the community. Whether that’s through charitable endeavours, in-kind support, promoting the area or using local suppliers. Read more about our work within the community here.

03. Market Leaders & Award Winners

It’s always lovely to be told that you’re doing a good job. In 2019, out of tens of thousands of branches, we were voted the 7th best estate and letting agent in the UK, by the Best Estate Agent Guide. We were also voted as the best single office estate agent in North London.

The awards are judged on a set of criteria. This included how good we are at customer service, property marketing, time on market, market share, and success on completion. In 2020 the BEAG changed their format and this time the highest accolade goes to those agencies who were voted in the top 3% of all agencies judged – of which, we are one!

We’ve also won multiple awards for excellence in sales and lettings and are proud to be market leaders within our area.

04. We Attract Thousands of Potential Tenants

Our heritage, prominent office in a high footfall area and our proven reputation have earned us a large, loyal repeat customer base. Then there’s our absolutely superb marketing efforts (we’re not shy about it either). We’re unusual in that we have a dedicated in-house marketing team and we have a partnership with a locally based design and creative agency. How many independent, or even large, estate and letting agencies can say the same?

We routinely access thousands of potential tenants, but we go one step better than that. We’re extremely good at identifying the right tenants for your property and how to most effectively reach them. Our team create targeted campaigns that best represent your property to these audiences and capture their imaginations. Then we back it all up with impressive factual details that enable the tenant to validate their decision to rent your property. This ensures that we obtain not only the best rents possible for your property, but also the right type of tenant. You will, therefore, find that we can get you not only a significantly higher success rate in completion, but also happier, more responsible and longer terms tenants. 05. Love Local & Giving Back

We’re incredibly proud of our involvement with charities and local organisations and always strive to have a meaningful impact on the community around us. We enjoy meeting our neighbours and getting involved with local events, providing in-kind support and raising money for local causes.

Whilst we help a variety of different social causes, we care passionately about three core issues:

  1. Local independent businesses and helping our neighbourhood thrive.
  2. Helping those with special needs. Three of our team members have relatives who are differently abled, so this is a subject that’s very close to our hearts.
  3. Supporting mental health initiatives both within the workplace and within the wider community.

06. A Full Service Agency

It’s our aim to provide full support for our landlords at every stage of the letting and property management process. By providing as many services as possible in-house, or through our tried-and-tested (and consistently monitored) partners, we hope to be able to provide some much needed relief from what can otherwise be a headache inducing process.

From helping you with mortgage, insurance and other financial advice, through to project managing property refurbishments – we’re here to help. Furthermore, there’s absolutely no obligation to use any of our in-house or partner services and we’ll never pressure you into opting into any of these services!

07. Achieving the Highest Return for Your Property

We’re highly skilled at helping you achieve the best possible return for your property. After all, that’s why you’re here right? Our holistic approach to estate agency means that we don’t just market your property (although we do that brilliantly), we also actively help you present it in a way that generates increased interest from prospective tenants. We’ll make people excited about your property, immediately envisioning living there from the get go.

We always look to help you add value to your property in a cost effective and timely way. This could be as simple as rearranging and decluttering a room (Marie Kondo has nothing on us). We can provide staging and styling advice, or even introduce you to interior stylists if you really mean business. Furthermore, we can help you with contractors and cleaners to spruce it all up before we send in one of our hugely talented photographers to capture your home in its best possible light.

We’re also constantly across the latest data and statistics. So, we’re clever about when to put your property on the market in order to heighten interest, how to most effectively word our property descriptions and which pictures will have the biggest impact.

08. Ethical Agency

Our objective is to always do the right thing, even when no one is looking. With this in mind we’ve made a commitment to be a socially responsible business (click here to read our Corporate Social Responsibility Charter).

So what makes us an ethical estate agent?

  • We have a transparent fair fees and pricing policy, which you can read more about here.
  • We actively give back and support our local community, read more here.
  • We’re fully regulated with professionally qualified staff and refuse to use underhand sales tactics.
  • We donate 2% of our profits to charity each year.
  • We promote good mental health at work and have set-up a series of internal policies and support systems, including fully paid mental health days, to assist our team the best we can.
  • Each year we work on improving our environmental efforts. From removing company cars and instead incentivising our team to walk, cycle or use public transport, to recycling, up-cycling and limiting our use of paper and plastics.

09. Fully Regulated, Fully Qualified

All of our team, with the exception of our trainees, are fully qualified within their field. We’re fully regulated by Propertymark and our sales, letting and property management teams are all NAEA or ARLA qualified at level 3 upwards. Davies & Davies Chartered Surveyors are FRICS qualified and regulated by RICS. Our marketing team has relevant bachelors and masters degrees. Even our bookkeeper is currently sitting her AAT Level 2 Bookkeeping exams! No cowboys here.
